Dr. Michael Accepts Faculty Appointment at Osher Center for Integrative Medicine 

Exciting news!

Dr. Michael Kowalski A.P., Dipl. Ac (NCCAOM) has been invited to and accepted an appointment to the faculty of the prestigious Osher Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine. He will be instructing physicians in Five Element Acupuncture Theory. Osher is a nationally known and highly respected institution and this honor is only given to leaders in the acupuncture field.

Not to worry though, Dr. Michael will not be traveling to Miami. He will be videotaping these lectures from his Jacksonville office, so that he can keep treating his patients with no interruptions.

Dr. Michael is the Lead Acupuncture Physician and Founder of the Acupuncture & Holistic Health Center in Jacksonville, Florida. Dr. Michael earned his B.A. at Yale University, and continued his studies in Worsley Five Element Acupuncture with Professor J. R. Worsley at the College of Traditional Acupuncture in England. After graduating he received a faculty appointment and practiced for five years in the College’s Faculty Clinic. Dr. Michael moved from England to Jacksonville, Florida in 1988, where his private practice continues to flourish. Michael’s hospital acupuncture practice experience includes having recently provided acupuncture in Jacksonville’s Mayo Clinic Pilot Integrative Medicine program.

Dr. Michael’s teaching experience includes serving on the faculty of the College of Traditional Chinese Acupuncture in England, and Worsley Institute of Classical Acupuncture in Miami. He established the Florida Board of Acupuncture-certified Preceptor program in Jacksonville. Michael served as Dean of Acupuncture and principal instructor of the Mandarin School of Chinese Medicine, and later as President of the Classical Acupuncture Institute in Jacksonville, FL. In addition, he has continuously served as Senior Faculty at the Academy for Five Element Acupuncture in Gainesville, since its founding in 1995.

Dr. Michael is also the Founder/Director of the 5 Element Institute in Jacksonville, a Florida Board of Acupuncture licensed provider of continuing education courses in acupuncture. The mission of the 5 Element Institute is to build an inter-professional bridge between the acupuncture profession and conventional medical communities, through research, treatment, and educational programs rooted in the tradition of Five Element Acupuncture.
