Dr. Michael Kowalski is the founder of Acupuncture & Holistic Health Center and one of the most experienced full-time acupuncture physicians in Jacksonville. After earning his B.A. from Yale University, he trained for seven years in Five Element Acupuncture under Professor J.R. Worsley at the College of Traditional Chinese Acupuncture in England, graduating in 1984.
Dr. Kowalski practiced and taught acupuncture in England before establishing his private practice in Jacksonville in 1988. He is Florida Board Certified (A.P.) and National Board Certified (Dipl. Ac., NCCAOM). He received his Doctorate in Acupuncture from Colorado Chinese Medicine University.
In addition to acupuncture, Dr. Kowalski has advanced training in holistic therapies including herbal medicine, homeopathy, functional nutrition, hormone balancing, auricular acupuncture, detoxification, and other integrative health approaches.
He is also the founder and Director of the 5 Element Institute in Jacksonville, where he provides continuing education and training programs for healthcare professionals interested in Five Element Acupuncture.

Dr. Adriana Posada is a licensed and nationally board certified Acupuncture Physician who strongly believes in the body’s natural healing powers and its connections with the mind, spirit and nature. She has practiced acupuncture for over 12 years. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, and came to Eastern medicine out of her own experiences and curiosity for how and why things work.
She is trained in extensive diagnostic techniques with strong emphasis on Contemporary Chinese Pulse Diagnosis that helps her understand the underlying root cause of her patient’s health conditions. She focuses her advanced studies in classical acupuncture, moxibustion, herbal medicine, Gua sha, cupping, auricular therapy, food therapy, and emotional and preventative health.
Dr. Adriana has enjoyed collaborating with our acupuncture team treatment approach at the Acupuncture & Holistic Health Center since 2022.

Dr. David MacIvor has practiced acupuncture for over 23 years, after graduating with his Masters in Acupuncture degree from the Florida College of Integrative Medicine. “Dr. Mac” is a 16-year Army veteran of combat arms and has successfully treated many military members while working as an Acupuncture Physician for the DoD, prior to him joining our practice.
Dr. Mac has treated many professional athletes. He was a competitive athlete in freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling for 28 years, and is highly experienced in treating a great variety of sports injuries and chronic pain conditions with acupuncture. Dr. Mac also treats a wide variety of health conditions such as digestive disorders, high blood pressure, gynecological diseases, headaches, and an array of musculoskeletal issues. He enjoys collaborating with our acupuncture associates in the team treatment approach we share at the Acupuncture & Holistic Health Center.
Terra Kernaghan is a licensed massage therapist who has been practicing at the Acupuncture and Holistic Health Center since 2023. She completed a 300-hour clinical practicum at the Alpha School of Massage and holds a Bachelor of Science in Integrative Health Sciences, an interdisciplinary field that supports whole-person health.
Terra provides massage and bodywork tailored to each patient’s unique needs and goals. She utilizes a variety of techniques to relieve pain, improve mobility, and promote relaxation, incorporating therapeutic modalities such as orthopedic cupping, gua sha, and myofascial release when appropriate.
She also supports patients in developing healthy lifestyle habits at home, including posture, stretching, and movement practices. With a steadfast commitment to her patients, genuine compassion, and a strong foundation in research, Terra delivers thoughtful, personalized care that nurtures both physical and emotional well-being.
Sydni Singletary is a licensed neuromuscular massage therapist dedicated to improving the community using focused, intentional techniques to reduce pain and tension. She is a Level Two Thai massage therapist, educated at Suai Thai Massage School in Phuket, Thailand, where she trained in traditional Thai massage and Thai Energy theory.
She provides therapeutic bodywork tailored to each patient’s unique needs, blending her techniques to relieve pain, improve mobility, and promote deep relaxation. For Sydni, working with veterans is part of her life’s purpose, and she is passionate about providing restorative care to those who have served.
With a commitment to holistic healing, genuine compassion, and a global foundation in bodywork, Sydni delivers thoughtful, personalized care that supports both physical and emotional well-being.
Alexander Kirichenko is a trained Licensed Massage Therapist who graduated from Florida School of Advanced Bodywork in 2018. He has practiced neuro-muscular massage targeting chronic pain ever since.
Growing up in Siberia, Russia, and later moving to America in 2016, his multicultural background gave Alexander a unique understanding of the healing and recovery process. Along with Swedish and deep tissue techniques, Alexander is also certified in cupping massage, arthritis bodywork, and Thai massage.
In his spare time, Alexander loves to game (to keep his joints limber), reading fiction and taking day trips around Florida.
