Spring Clean Your Acupuncture Meridians

After a long winter, spring has finally arrived. Happy spring to all my wonderful patients!
Spring is an exciting season of the year. It is about the power of rebirth, renewal and growth. It’s not just about physical regeneration, but is also about a renewal of our spirit of hope.
In 5 Element Acupuncture, spring is associated with the Wood Element, which involves the Liver and Gall Bladder meridians. The Liver meridian is responsible for planning, while the Gall Bladder is in charge of decision-making. If our Liver and Gall Bladder meridians are imbalanced, our ability to make good plans and healthy decisions will be out of balance. 5 Element Acupuncture treatments balance these meridians to support the physical, mental and spiritual functions of these vital organs.
The best time of year to balance the body’s meridians is during their associated seasons. For the Liver and Gall Bladder it’s the spring, so Dr. Michael recommends that all his patients come in during this important season for a “Spring Cleaning.” If we make sure our car is tuned up every 3 months, we should do the same for our body’s vital Qi energy. After all, we all need some extra support to achieve our goals!
