More than 3 million Americans suffer with Fibromyalgia each year. People with Fibromyalgia often liken their symptoms to a flu that won’t go away. They typically have muscle pains, fatigue, brain fog, trouble sleeping, and wake up stiff and achy. Fibromyalgia symptoms can vary, ranging from annoying to severely debilitating.
Acupuncture treatment provides the most effective and safe solution to this terrible problem. Trigger point acupuncture can pinpoint and release the areas of muscle tension and pain. Worsley 5 Element Acupuncture can treat the underlying cause of this condition, thereby improving sleep as well as physical and mental energy levels. Combining 5 Element acupuncture with trigger point acupuncture yields a comprehensive benefit. When they are also combined with therapeutic massage therapy, the effects are generally significant.
Everyone is unique in how they respond to acupuncture treatment. That said, a typical course of acupuncture treatment for Fibromyalgia consists of 10 to 20 treatments. Usually treatment begins twice weekly for 2 or 3 weeks, followed by weekly treatment until symptoms are significantly reduced. Afterwards, treatment frequency is gradually spread out, so as to allow the treatments to hold better over time. Following the initial course of treatment, a maintenance plan of one treatment per month is recommended.
