Winter, Our Bone Health, and Acupuncture

Dr. Michael here!

As we move further into the season of winter and the colder months, our hibernation habits start, whatever those may be. As those hibernation habits soothe and comfort the parts of ourselves needed to rest, relax, and reflect in preparation for spring changes (those resolutions we’re going to work on), the weather most certainly doesn’t always get the memo to be soothing and kind to our bones and joints.

In a way, acupuncture also shares its own season of rest and relaxation with winter, but also inner strength. Winter is the season of water, which promotes hibernation, but also willpower, ability to flow, and the ability to keep going even through the strain this season can bring. One of those strains can be the pain that we feel in our bones and joints. While this pain can be caused by a number of things, the end result is the same: the pain is too great to be able to kick back, curl up, and enjoy our holiday relaxation traditions. So what can we do?

We here at Acupuncture and Holistic Health will help with pain management and dig deep into the cause of the bone and joint pain to offer you solutions and game plans. By targeting the root cause of the pain, and working with the meridians of the body that are associated with the winter months, we can move you from groaning and moaning about the pain to sleeping, walking, and hibernating in comfort!
