What Does Citicoline (CDP Choline) Do?

CDP Choline (also known as cytidine 5’- diphosphocholine), a natural precursor in the formation of phospholipids, is a potent inhibitor of Phospholipase A2 (PLA2). CDP Choline has been used as a nutritional supplement in the treatment of patients with a variety of disorders including memory disorders, vascular cognitive impairment, vascular dementia, senile dementia, schizophrenia, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, head trauma, and ischemic stroke.

CDP Choline is a natural compound involved in the synthesis of phosphatidylcholine, a major constituent (30%) of the grey matter of brain tissue. CDP Choline consumption promotes brain metabolism by enhancing the synthesis of acetylcholine and restoring phospholipid content in the brain, which positively affects memory and other brain activity.

CDP Choline boosts immune function against viruses (including the SARS-COV-2 virus, known as COVID-19) by inhibiting PLA2. Suggested Usage
