Pan 5x from Progressive Labs is a raw pancreas enzyme concentrate supplement. It contains digestive enzymes that help in digesting proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. A normally functioning pancreas secretes about 8 cups a day of pancreatic juice into the duodenum (first part of the small intestine). This fluid contains pancreatic enzymes to help with digestion. It also contains bicarbonate to neutralize stomach acid as it enters the small intestine.

In the normal aging process and for a variety of other reasons, it is not uncommon to produce less pancreatic enzymes than your body needs to properly digest your food. This creates pancreatic insufficiency. Early signs that pancreatic enzymes may be insufficient are:

Pancreatic Enzymes In Pan 5X

Lipase (7,500 USP units)

Lipase works with bile from the liver to break down fat molecules so they can be absorbed and used by the body. A shortage may cause a lack of needed fats and fat-soluble vitamins, diarrhea, and/or fatty stools.

Protease (40,000 USP units)

Proteases break down proteins. They help keep the intestine free of parasites such as bacteria, yeast, and protozoa. A shortage may cause an increased risk for intestinal infections, allergies, or the formation of toxic substances due to the incomplete digestion of proteins.

Amylase (40,000 USP units)

Amylase breaks down carbohydrates (starch) into sugars which are more easily absorbed by the body. This enzyme is also found in saliva. A shortage may cause diarrhea, caused by undigested starch in the colon.
